About Duvall, WA
Duvall is a city in King County, Washington, situated halfway between Monroe and Carnation on State Route 203. The population was 6,695 at the time of the 2010 census and is expected to reach 8,107 in 2019. It is situated at 47°44′3′′N 121°58′32′′W (47°44′3′′N 121°58′32′′W) (47.734149, -121.975493) and has a total area of 2.49 square miles (6.45 km2), of which 2.47 square miles (6.40 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau. The climate in this region is pleasant with little variation in temperature between highs and lows and ample rainfall year-round. Due to its proximity to the Northern Cascades, the Snoqualmie Valley floods from late fall to early spring. Duvall has a marine west coast climate, abbreviated “Cfb” on climate maps, according to the Köppen Climate Classification system.
As of the 2010 census, the City had a population of 6,695 people, 2,224 households, and 1,816 families. There were 2,710.5 persons per square mile (1,046.5 inhabitants per km2). There were 2,315 dwelling units at an average density of 937.2 dwelling units per square mile (361.9 dwelling units per km2). The city’s racial composition was 89.7% White, 0.4 percent African American, 0.5 percent Native American, 2.7 percent Asian, 2.9 percent other races, and 3.8 percent of those who identified as having two or more races. Hispanic or Latino people of any race made up 7.7% of the population.
There were 2,224 houses, 52.3 percent of which had children under the age of 18, 70.2 percent of which were married couples, 8.0 percent of which had a female householder without a husband, 3.4 percent of which had a male householder without a wife, and 18.3 percent of which were non-families. Individuals constituted 14.4 percent of all homes, while 2.8 percent of all households included someone aged 65 years or older. The average household contained 2.99 people, while the average family contained 3.33.
Duvall’s median age was 34.4 years. Residents were 33.8 percent under the age of 18; 4.8 percent between the ages of 18 and 24; 33.2 percent between the ages of 25 and 44; 23.7 percent between the ages of 45 and 64; and 4.5 percent 65 years of age or more.
